Totem Pole Playhouse is in the mountains of South Central Pennsylvania’s Michaux Forest at Caledonia State Park. We’re on the South side of U.S. Route 30–the historic Lincoln Heritage Highway–midway between the towns of Gettysburg and Chambersburg. The famed Appalachian Trail passes just a couple hundred yards West of the Playhouse. The Maryland border or Mason-Dixon Line is 13 miles South as the crow flies. Pennsylvania’s capital city, Harrisburg, is 50 miles NE. We’re 163 miles East of Pittsburgh, 125 miles West of Philadelphia, and 250 miles SW of New York City.
From Interstate 15 North
Exit at York Road onto Route 30 West and drive two miles to the Gettysburg Square. Continue through the Square on Rt. 30 West 15 miles to Rt. 233 South. At Caledonia State Park traffic light, turn left onto Rt. 233 South or Rocky Mountain Road. Drive 50 yards to the Y in the road, bear left and follow the signs about 100 yards to the Playhouse.
From Baltimore
From Baltimore: Beltway #695 to Interstate 70 West about 40 miles to Route 15 North. Drive 35 miles, exit at York Road onto Route 30 West and drive two miles to the Gettysburg Square. Continue through the Square on Rt. 30W 15 miles to Rt. 233 South. At the Caledonia State Park traffic light, turn left onto Rt. 233 South or Rocky Mountain Road. Drive 50 yards to the Y in the road, bear left and follow the signs about 100 yards to the Playhouse.
From Gettysburg
Take Route 30 West 15 miles from the Gettysburg Square to Route 233 South. At the Caledonia State Park traffic light, turn left onto Rt. 233 South or Rocky Moun-tain Road. Drive 50 yards to the Y in the road, bear left and follow the signs about 100 yards to the Playhouse.
From Washington D.C.
Beltway to Exit 270 North about 30 miles to Frederick. Exit onto Route 15 North and continue about 35 miles. Exit at York Road onto Route 30 West and drive two miles to the Gettysburg Square. Continue through the Square on Rt. 30 West 15 miles to Rt. 233 South. At the Caledonia State Park traffic light, turn left onto Rt. 233 South or Rocky Moun-tain Road. From Chambersburg
From Chambersburg: Take Route 30 East about 10 miles from Interstate 81 Exit 16 to Route 233 South. At the Caledonia State Park traffic light, turn right onto Rt. 233 South or Rocky Mountain Road. Drive 50 yards to the Y in the road, bear left and follow the signs about 100 yards to the Playhouse.
From Interstate 81 South
Take Exit 16 onto Route 30 East about 10 miles to Route 233 South. At the Caledonia State Park traffic light, turn right onto Rt. 233 South or Rocky Mountain Road. Drive 50 yards to the Y in the road, bear left and follow the signs about 100 yards to the Playhouse.
From Pittsburgh: Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike East to the Carlisle Interstate 81 Exit South. Drive 32 miles and take Exit 20 left onto Route 997 South 5 miles to the Route 30 traffic light. Turn left onto Rt. 30 and drive 2-1/2 miles. At the Caledonia State Park traffic light, turn right onto Rt. 233 South or Rocky Mountain Road. Drive 50 yards to the Y in the road, bear left and follow the signs about 100 yards to the Playhouse.
From Interstate 81 North
Take Exit 20 onto Route 997 South 5 miles to the Route 30 traffic light. Turn left onto Rt. 30 and drive 2-1/2 miles. At the Caledonia State Park traffic light, turn right onto Rt. 233 South or Rocky Mountain Road. Drive 50 yards to the Y in the road, bear left and follow the signs about 100 yards to the Playhouse.
From Philadelphia
Follow Schuykill Expressway to PA Turn-pike West to Camp Hill Exit 19 onto Route 15 South. Drive 28 miles, exit at York Road, right onto Route 30 West and drive two miles to the Gettysburg Square. Follow the directions above from Gettysburg.
From Interstate 15 South: Exit at York Road onto Route 30 West and drive two miles to the Gettysburg Square. Continue through the Square on 30 West about 15 miles to Rt. 233 South.
