Maureen Flannery Spang - Board Chair

Caldwell in the Federal District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.  Following her clerkship, Maureen took a position as an Assistant District Attorney with the Office of the District Attorney in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.  She remained in that position until moving to Franklin County in 2014.  She currently continues to do work for the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office.

Maureen was first introduced to Totem Pole Playhouse as child when she attended A Christmas Carol with family friends who lived in Chambersburg.  She has enjoyed attending performances at the playhouse throughout the years.  Maureen joined the Board in 2014. Along with her husband and daughter, Maureen looks forward to many exciting seasons at the playhouse.

Lindsay Griggs - Board Vice Chair

Also, she has directed or assisted on numerous young children theatre productions.  Finally, she is an avid theatre goer who believes live theatre is essential to every community!

Issac Bucher - Board Member

Isaac Bucher, a Gettysburg native, is owner of Mister Ed’s Elephant Museum and Candy Emporium in Orrtanna. igh School, Lebanon County (2008 Lebanon County Teacher of the Year), Isaac moved home to become general manager of Mister Ed’s in 2008. He and his wife purchased Mister Ed’s in 2014. He enjoys hosting community events for children and meeting customers from across the country.

In addition to the Totem Pole Playhouse board, Isaac is a Gettysburg Adams Chamber of Commerce Ambassador, committee chair for Taste of the Town Gettysburg, elder at Lower Marsh Creek Presbyterian Church and member of the Adams County Young Professionals.

Isaac was introduced to Totem Pole Playhouse more than a decade ago and was impressed by the professional performances of unique theater in his own backyard. An avid theater-goer, Isaac loves taking quick trips to NYC as well as traveling the world with his wife Nicole and son Larkin.

Dr. Wesley R. Fugate - Board Member

Dr. Wesley R. Fugate began service as the 20th president of Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA in January of 2020. 

Since coming to Wilson, Fugate has steered Wilson through the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting economic challenges. Under his leadership, the College launched a new strategic plan, Future Wilson: The Ph...

oenix Rises. As a result of this planning process, the College has created six undergraduate majors, one degree completion program, one graduate program, one endorsement, and one certificate program. Additionally, Fugate has created the President’s Commission on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and appointed task groups seeking to help strengthen Wilson’s financial position. 

Prior to his appointment at Wilson, Fugate served Randolph College in Lynchburg, Va. in a variety of roles: vice president for student affairs and dean of students; vice president and chief of staff, and secretary of the Board of Trustees; and interim vice president for enrollment management. Previously, Fugate served as deputy chief of staff for planning and education policy to the governor of Kentucky; director of events for a national political party’s victory efforts, where he coordinated events for the president, vice president and first lady of the United States, as well as a myriad of other high-ranking officials; adviser to the Interfraternity Council at the University of Georgia; and director of program advancement for Kentucky’s Governor’s Scholars Program. 

Fugate is passionate about giving back to the communities and organizations with which he is affiliated. He is a member of the board of directors for Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society and Educational Foundation, the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (AICUP), Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce, the Franklin County Housing Authority, the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC), and the Phi Kappa Tau Foundation, for which he is the immediate past chair. He is past president of the Endstation Theatre Company board of directors, past chair of the Lynchburg Beacon of Hope board of directors, past treasurer of the National Association of Presidential Assistants in Higher Education (NAPAHE) board of directors, past member of the Association of Governing Boards (AGB) Board Professionals Leadership Group and a past board member of the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity, Kentucky’s Governor’s Scholars Program, the Centre College Alumni Association, Jenny Wiley Theatre, and the Kentucky Theatre Association. 

Fugate and his husband Cody Ward, an international education and student development professional, reside on campus in Sharpe House along with their cat, Miss Scarlet, an unofficial mascot of Wilson.

Robin has competed in several cooking competitions throughout the country and enjoys all aspects of the culinary world.  She and husband Matt and two sons reside in McConnellsburg and have been a part of numerous Totem Pole performances over the past 10 years.  Her fondest memories of Totem Pole Playhouse were watching her young sons perform on the stage at this Franklin County treasure.  She enjoys working to preserve and promote live theatre, foster community theatre support, and help to pave the road for a bright future for Totem Pole Playhouse.

Judy Young - Board Member

A native Pennsylvanian, Judy came to Chambersburg in 1959 to attend Wilson College, where she met her husband, Richard. Following graduation in 1963 Judy began teaching at Grandview Elementary School in Greenvillage PA, and received her M.Ed. degree from Shippensburg U in 1967. She retired from a most rewarding 45-year teaching/school librarian career in 2008. Judy and Dick lived away from Chambersb...

urg 1972-2012, returning “Home” to Central Presbyterian, Wilson, family and friends after 40 years. Now happy residents of Penn National, Judy declares that yes, you can go back home again!

As self-proclaimed theater groupie/geek/nerd, she is happy to be adding Totem Pole Playhouse to her list of activities, which include Central Presbyterian (ordained as Elder in the Presbyterian Church) and Grove Family Library. A proud Wilson College Alumna, she is a member of the college’s Magazine Advisory Board, and lends supports to the Wilson College choir and a Capella group, “The Diversitones,” a hangover from when she was a Wilson “Ten Tone” in the 60’s. Her passion for theater and music have remained strong; she and Dick are loyal season subscribers to TPP, returning numerous times during those 40 years away, to attend TP productions with family and friends, keeping up a tradition that goes back to the days of the Stapleton-Putch dynasty. And saving the best for last, they are the parents of 2 sons and grandparents of three great kids!
